  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut the chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, ginger, garlic, half of the orange juice, and orange zest. Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, mix the remaining orange juice, brown sugar, cornstarch combined with chicken broth, and red pepper flakes if using.
  4. Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook marinated chicken in batches until golden brown (6-8 minutes).
  5. Pour in the sauce mixture and stir until it thickens (about 3 minutes).
