  • 3 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil (for frying)
  • 3 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
  • 2 tsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar

Instructions

  1. Cut chicken breasts into bite-sized pieces.
  2. Toss chicken in cornstarch until coated.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat. Fry chicken pieces in batches for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, orange juice, brown sugar, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.
  5. Pour the sauce over the fried chicken in the same pan and stir for about 3-5 minutes until thickened.
