  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 8 oz phyllo dough (thawed)
  • 1 large onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 4 cups fresh spinach (sautéed)
  • 6 oz feta cheese (crumbled)
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill (chopped)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup butter or olive oil (melted)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add ground meat; cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula.
  4. Stir in sautéed spinach, feta, dill, parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  5. Lay out phyllo sheets on a clean surface; brush each layer with melted butter or olive oil.
  6. In a greased baking dish, place half the phyllo sheets at the bottom. Spread the meat mixture evenly on top.
  7. Cover with remaining phyllo sheets, brushing each again with butter or oil.
  8. Tuck edges neatly and bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.
